Kaleena Stasiak
September 13, 2013 – October 13, 2013

Kaleena Stasiak is fascinated by the ways in which people attempt to transcend loss. In a society that typically sugarcoats or ignores mortality, she forces us to confront it. Stasiak’s work shows a continual presence of her interest in craft and women’s work and its representation of the creative potential of life.

Kaleena Stasiak attended OCAD from 2004 to 2008. During this time she spent 6 months printing at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Beaux Arts in Paris, France. After graduation she began printing at Open Studio. She completed a Summer Residency in Printmaking and Book Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York, New York in 2010, and spent a month printing in the studios at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2011. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and internationally.
