Open Studio National Printmaking Award Shortlisted Artists

June 27, 2014 – July 26, 2014

The Open Studio National Printmaking Award was launched in 2008 to recognize and reward excellence in the Canadian printmaking community. Open to all printmakers in Canada and Canadian printmakers working elsewhere, the awards are presented in conjunction with Open Studio’s annual 100 Prints event. Combining elements of a fine art exhibition and a lottery, 100 Prints is a much-anticipated event in the Canadian arts community, and provides a chance for art lovers to come face to face with works from celebrated Canadian visual artists, as well as pieces by promising emerging talents. It is also a major annual fundraiser for Open Studio, supporting professional development opportunities for artists and promotes contemporary, original, fine art prints. This exhibition features the six artists shortlisted for the 2014 awards: Dan Steeves (First Prize),  Doug Guildford (Second Prize),  Dan O’Neill (Third Prize), Elizabeth D’Agostino (Honourable Mention), Kurt Pammer (Honourable Mention), and Laura Widmer (Honourable Mention).
