Laura Bydlowska was born in Warsaw, Poland, and is an artist living and working in Toronto. She obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in Art History and Studio Art from the University of Guelph and a Master’s in Museum Studies (MMSt) from the University of Toronto, with high distinction, including the Canadian Museums Association and Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. As a graduate she interned at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, England and the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Canada. During her academic career she focused on public programming with an emphasis on interpretive studies and visitor engagement.
Laura’s art practice employs the etching technique and pyrography (wood burning) and has been featured in a variety of exhibitions including a traveling exhibition with the Ontario Society of Artists, the Japanese Paper Place and Open Studio.
In 2008 Laura began an internship at Open Studio working with the Print Sales and Archives Manager, Astrid Ho. Later, she worked as an Exhibition Assistant for Open Studio’s Art Toronto Fair booth(2011-13) and was hired on as the Administrative Assistant in 2011. Laura became the Office Manager in 2014.
