Open Studio is looking for new board members!

Open Studio, Toronto, is an Artist-Run Centre (ARC) dedicated to contemporary print. We offer accessible, inclusive and affordable printmaking facilities, programs and services for artists and the public from across Canada and abroad.

We support artists in the creation and exhibition of contemporary print in an open-minded, safe and collaborative environment. Our vision is to shape the exploration of print as essential, dynamic, and relevant to contemporary culture and creative thought. Open Studio is a non-profit, charitable organization.

About the Board

Open Studio is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of artist members and associate members. As an artist-run centre, a minimum of 50% of the Board is comprised of professional artists. Associate members represent the wider community, and Open Studio relies on them for expertise in areas such as development, donor relations, programming, marketing etc. Board meetings involve high-level discussions about strategic goals and conversations about operations.

Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which occurs in the fall.

The Board of Directors meets approximately 8-10 times per year and Board members serve on the Board for a two-year term and may be re-elected for a second-year term if they choose. Board members may also serve on one or more committees (Fundraising; Governance; Programming etc.).
