BECOME AN OPEN STUDIO ARTIST MEMBER TODAY!
Membership is available throughout the year to artists who have been approved to use the studio by the Technical Director. Those interested should contact the Technical Director by email or by phone at 416-504-8238 to set up a portfolio review. During your portfolio review, the Technical Director will look at your work, to get a sense of your technical abilities (this is not an aesthetic judgement), so please try to bring work that demonstrates your abilities in the area(s) of the studio you wish to access. Your portfolio should consist of 6-10 pieces of original print work only (no slides/digital images please). If you wish to work in more than one area of the studio (i.e., screenprinting, etching, lithography, etc.), please bring 6-10 pieces for each medium.

Each year Open Studio awards two fellowships to artist members of merit. Please note that only current Open Studio Artist Members who have been a member for a minimum of one year are eligible to be considered for the Nick Novak Fellowship.
Nick Novak Fellowship
Each year since 1981, Open Studio has awarded a fellowship to practicing artists currently involved with the Studio as Artist Members. The Nick Novak Fellowship is offered in memory of one of Open Studio’s most influential master printmakers. If you are an Artist Member at Open Studio, learn how to apply for the Nick Novak Fellowship.
Hexagon Special Projects Fellowship
Through the generous support of an anonymous donor, Open Studio is pleased to offer the Hexagon Special Projects Fellowship, an initiative that provides a fellowship to one Open Studio Artist Member annually. This fellowship fosters and promotes the study of print practices, and creates professional development opportunities to support a mid-career or established Artist Member and their career through the provision of six consecutive months of studio time to create and complete a specific project. If you are an Artist Member at Open Studio, learn how to apply for the Hexagon Special Projects Fellowship.
