Print Play: Short 1–4 hr Experiences – A Fun “Taste Test” of Printmaking

Print Play are short 1-4 hour workshops perfect for anyone curious about printmaking but not ready to dive into long-term courses. These workshops offer an affordable, fun, and low-commitment way to explore printmaking. You’ll experiment with simple techniques and pre-made designs—materials are provided so you can just enjoy the process. Think of it as dipping your toes into the world of printmaking!

Bring a family member, colleague or your bestie and discover what makes printmaking so exciting. Print Play workshops may also align with current exhibitions or public programs.

Build Skills: Multi-Week Classes and Weekend Workshops

For those ready to dive deeper, we offer structured courses and workshops that provide a comprehensive introduction to printmaking techniques. These include 6-week and 4-week core courses in screenprinting, etching, and lithography, as well as weekend workshops. Most courses are beginner-friendly, with small class sizes.

This is also the perfect path to build your skills and take a step toward joining Open Studio’s vibrant community of printmakers (through membership).

We also offer private instruction tailored to your specific interests and needs so you can embark on a personalized printmaking journey.

Video above: On Saturday, May 11th, Open Studio hosted Print Tease, a grassroots fundraiser. Participants made donations, chose a time slot, and printed using screenprinting, letterpress, linocut, and photolithography, guided by instructors. It was a fantastic workshop for experiencing printmaking firsthand! Video: Cass with Lucky One Projects.
