About Studio Access
Services: Photo documentation and EPSON printing.

Art Documentation Monthlies

Active September through June
$80 + HST per capture (Public) | $40 + HST per capture (Member)

Open Studio offers documentation services for primarily two-dimensional* artworks using our Archive digitization rig, facilitated by Helen Tran, Archive Assistant Volunteer since 2022.

Specs: Maximum capture area 24″ x 36″. Each session includes JPEG and RAW files with in-camera white balancing. Post-production is not included but is available through Helen as a separate service.

Schedule: Sessions take place on the last Monday of every month (availability may vary). Sessions are paused July and August 2025 and resume in September.

To book: Email pudy@openstudio.ca by the Sunday one week before your session. A time slot will be assigned upon sign-up.

What to bring: 1) Your pieces to be documented and 2) A USB drive with at least 64GB of free space

Photo-positive Transparency Output

Weekly service (orders are processed after all invoices have been paid)
$24 + HST per running foot (Public)
$12 + HST per running foot (Member)

Open Studio produces film outputs using an EPSON SureColour T3270 24″ wide printer with black dye ink on CAMSTAT Waterproof Film.

Deadlines: Submit by 12 pm every Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Orders are completed by end of the submission day.

To submit: Send files to pudy@openstudio.ca following these guidelines:

  • Submit separate files for each film length (no layered Photoshop files)
  • Accepted formats: .BMP, .JPG, .PSD, .PDF
  • Dimensions: scaled to desired size at 360 DPI
  • Colour mode: BITMAP
  • For greyscale images using the RIP software halftone pattern, include: Frequency (Lines per Inch), Angle, and Shape
