Ann McCall
April 10, 2015 – May 9, 2015

For almost 40 years McCall has been passionate about printmaking, spending over half of that period screenprinting and in the last 15 years she has been actively pursuing collagraphy. Since the beginning of her printmaking career, she has been exploring the subject of nature. In her 2009 Nature découpée  series, McCall explores the fundamental details found in nature rather than the overall rendering of landscape. In her current series, Arboreal, she is investigating new ways representing land and landscape.

Ann McCall, RCA, born in Toronto in 1941, has lived and worked in Montréal for her entire professional career. She is a graduate of McGill University, BA 1964, in History of Art and of Concordia University in Studio Art, BFA 1978, specializing in printmaking. In 1982, she was inducted into the RCA, serving twice on Governing Council and as President 2010- 2012. Since 1979 she has had 58 solo exhibitions of prints, paintings or drawings and has participated in over 250 national and international group exhibitions, and has won 13 prizes in printmaking. Her work can be found in public, corporate and individual collections.
